What this video covers
This is the product video for Module A: Rubric Mastery. It assumes you've read From Good Enough to Clear and Fair and completed the Rubric Analysis Protocol exercise. The video walks through the optimizer with your protocol notes visible alongside — the comparison between your professional judgment and the system's suggestions is where the deeper learning happens.
What you'll see in the walkthrough
The optimizer doesn't replace your rubric. It surfaces three things you may already have flagged in the protocol exercise — vague language, overlapping levels, and criteria that may be doing more than one job at once — and proposes specific edits.
The video shows three patterns you'll see in the optimizer's output:
- Suggestions you accept. A criterion that read "uses evidence effectively" becomes specific enough that two different teachers would score the same student paper similarly. Clearer for AI, clearer for students.
- Suggestions you reject. A proposed level-label change that strips out language students already recognize. Don't accept changes that lose what worked.
- Suggestions you modify. A revision that's close but not quite right. Keep the helpful part, adjust the wording.
The deeper move is the comparison: which of your protocol notes did the optimizer also flag? Which did it miss? Which did it raise that you hadn't seen? That comparison sharpens judgment over cycles, not in one pass.
