Download

Time: ~45–60 min for the planning pass

Pairs with: Leading TA39 Implementation

What this is for

A printable one-page planner for an assessment lead, department head, coach, or committee starting their first TA39 implementation cycle. The full guidance is in Leading TA39 Implementation. The planner is a structured way to make the role safe, the indicators few, the structures sustainable, and the first communication clear.

FIRST SUPPORT CYCLE — IMPLEMENTATION LEAD PLANNER
─────────────────────────────────────────────────

Lead (or committee): _______________________________
Department / school: _______________________________
Cycle start date: __________________________________

1. NAME YOUR ROLE

My role is to support quality by:
   _________________________________________________
   _________________________________________________

   My role is NOT to:
   _________________________________________________
   _________________________________________________

2. CHOOSE THREE QUALITY INDICATORS
(the ones that matter most for the next 6–8 weeks)

   [ ] Rubric / template quality
   [ ] Feedback specificity
   [ ] Teacher adaptation
   [ ] Curriculum alignment
[ ] Student uptake (revision evidence)
   [ ] Teacher sustainability (time / stress)
   [ ] Student trust

   The three I'm choosing:
   1. ______________________________________________
   2. ______________________________________________
   3. ______________________________________________

3. CHOOSE TWO SUPPORT STRUCTURES
   (don't launch everything at once)

   [ ] One calibration session
   [ ] Weekly drop-in support
   [ ] Peer partnerships
[ ] One shared resource library
   [ ] Subject / curriculum cohort meeting
   [ ] Sample review cycle

   The two I'm starting with:
   1. ______________________________________________
   2. ______________________________________________

4. EVIDENCE I WILL COLLECT
(the lightest evidence that will tell me whether
    support is working)

[ ] Three anonymized feedback samples for calibration
[ ] Teacher reflection after first use
[ ] One student perception question
[ ] Before/after comparison of draft and final feedback
[ ] List of repeated rubric / template issues
   [ ] Other: ______________________________________

5. MY FIRST COMMUNICATION TO TEACHERS
(a short message that makes the role safe)

   _________________________________________________
   _________________________________________________
   _________________________________________________

   Suggested frame:
"This work is about feedback quality and shared
learning, not evaluation. TA39 drafts; you review,
adapt, and decide. The support structures this
term are here to help us develop that judgment
    together."

How to use this

Fill out sections 1–5 before the cycle starts. The discipline of writing it out — especially the role boundary in section 1 and the communication in section 5 — is what makes the rest land.

Plan to revisit the planner at mid-term and end-of-term checkpoints. The structures, indicators, and communication may all need to shift as you learn what's actually happening.

For the full reasoning behind each section, read Leading TA39 Implementation.
