We’ve heard from teachers looking for a way to generate exemplar responses aligned to their rubric and assignment prompt — sometimes to help clarify expectations for students, other times to explore how the AI interprets scoring before grading begins.
Whether you're modeling what an A-, B+, or “Meets Standard” response looks like, or checking how your rubric is being applied, this feature is now available in TA39.

What You Can Now Do
You can now generate exemplar responses using the rubric and prompt-to-the-student for an assignment.
These are student-style essays designed to reflect the score levels you define — such as “Approaching Standard” or “Exceeds Expectations.”
You select the target ratings for each rubric criterion. TA39 creates a sample response that fits.
You can review the result, make edits if needed, and save it with the assignment.

You Can Still Upload Your Own
You can continue to upload real student samples if you prefer. Both upload and generation options are supported, and both are stored alongside the assignment for future use or reference.
How to Get Started
- Open any assignment and go to the Exemplars tab
- Click Generate Exemplars
- Select the rubric scores you want the sample to reflect
- TA39 will generate a response that matches your selections
- Review, edit, and save
These exemplars are now part of the assignment and can be reused, shared with students, or compared to actual submissions.
Coming Soon: AI That Learns From Your Exemplars
In an upcoming release, TA39 will begin using these exemplars to guide how the AI gives feedback — helping it reflect your scoring approach more closely.
